Padma Lakshmi Bio
Padma Parvati Lakshmi, a daughter of Padma Parvati Lakshmi,
was born in Chennai, India, on September 1 1970. Her parents divorced at the
age two. Her mother emigrated to America to escape Indian stigma. Lakshmi was a
resident for two years with her grandparents in Chennai prior to her move to
the United States. Her parents divorced later, and she now has a younger half
brother and a half-sister from her father. Lakshmi shares her name with the
Hindu goddess wealth and prosperity. She grew up in New York, then moved to Los
Angeles with her stepfather and mother. She would visit India for a few months
each year to visit relatives. Padma Lakshmi first became interested in acting
around the time of 29 in 1999. The first film she acted in was "Figlio of
Sandokan" which was a film about an Italian pirate. Next, she did a role
in the film 'Caraibi' (Pirates: Blood
Brothers) which is a period drama about pirates of the 17th century. She also
hosted Italy's highest-rated TV show 'Domenica In. In 2001, she played a
comical supporting role as a disco singer in 'Glitter', which was an American
film. Padma has a daughter named Krishna Thea Lakshmi-Dell with Adam Dell, a
venture capitalist. Krishna was born on February 20, 2010. Teddy Forstmann, who
was the CEO and ex-chairman of IMG and is also her partner. Lakshmi and American
venture capitalist Adam Dell have a daughter, Krishna. Lakshmi eventually
revealed the identity of her father to her child, though she kept it a secret
initially. Her daughter said, "Everything is better when she's
