Rita Ora is a British artist and singer. Rita Sahatciu Ora was a British singer-songwriter who was born to Vera Bajraktari and Besnik Sahatciu in Pristina, Kosovo in 1990. Besim Sahatciu is the granddaughter of her mother. When she was just one, her family decided to relocate to the United Kingdom. She was raised in West London and attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School in Earls Court, following which she graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre School and later St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College. She began singing at a young age. In 2004, she appeared in the British film Spivs. She was selected to audition for Eurovision The Country That is in need of You, a British participant in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. However, she pulled out of the contest after only few episodes due to the fact that she didn't feel confident enough. Ora's first music release was in 2007, when she was featured on the song of Craig David "Awkward" and later in 2008 with "Where is Your Love" featuring Tinchy Stryder. She also appeared in the music videos. Ora began to sing in bars around London In 2009, an A&R rep told Roc Nation about Ora, shortly after Ora took a flight to New York and met Jay-Z. In 2009, Ora made a cameo in Jay-Z's video for "Young Forever" and "Over" by Drake. Jay-Z was intrigued by Ora's talent and kindly signed her to Roc Nation. In which Ora was featured in a commercial promoting Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. She started singing from the same place where her father, Besnik, was a pub owner. Gwen Stefani is a major influence on her manner of speaking. She also refers to her father, Besnik who was a bar owner. Kate Moss and Ed Sheeran are friends.
