Emily Swallow
Emily Swallow (born December 18, 1979) is an American actress from the United States. She is most well-known for her role as Kim Fischer on The Mentalist and as Amara / The Darkness in the eleventh season of Supernatural. Also, she appears as The Armorer in the live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian and had a minor role as Emily in the video game The Last of Us Part II. Swallow was born on the 18th of December 1979 in Washington, D.C. Her family lived in Sterling, Virginia, as in Jacksonville, Florida. Swallow began her acting career at Stanton College Preparatory School. She also performed in professional and amateur theater productions. She graduated in 2001 with a degree in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Virginia, and later pursued an MFA in Acting at New York University's Tisch School for the Arts.Swallow began her career in Broadway theatre which she acted in diverse productions, such as High Fidelity, King Lear, The Taming of the Shrew, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at the Guthrie Theater, Much Ado About Nothing for Shakespeare in the Park, and the world premiere of off-Broadway shows Romantic Poetry and Measure for Pleasure.In 2008, Swallow made her film debut in the military drama The Lucky Ones. She appeared in two international premieres: Donald Margulies' play The Country House, Los Angeles' Geffen Playhouse; and Mark Rylance's play Nice Fish, at the Guthrie Theatre. The actress won the Falstaff Award for best Female Performer in 2010 for her performance as Kate in the play The Taming of the Shrew.In 2012, Swallow and fellow singer/comedian Jac Huberman devised their own stage show, Jac N Swallow and performed it in New York at the Laurie Beeckman Theater and Joe's Pub. The show is about their hilarious misadventures in dealing with different life situations.
